Industrial salicylic acid is an industrial-grade product of para-hydroxybenzoic acid, with the chemical formula C7H6O3 and a molecular weight of 138.12. Its CAS registration number is 69-72-7. It appears as a light pink to light brown crystalline powder. The initial melting point of the dry product is ≥ 156℃. When heated under normal pressure, it easily decomposes into phenol and carbon dioxide. The main technical indicators require that the salicylic acid content be no less than 99%, the phenol content be ≤ 0.20%, and the ash content be ≤ 0.30%. It is packaged in 25-kilogram woven bags lined with polyethylene plastic bags for sealing.
